Sun Filled Flat
There are many challenges faced when decorating condos, most common hurdle is that the average condo tends to have a smaller footprint, and newer buildings have a standard contemporary aesthetic that is a bit, dare I say, bland. We really wanted this rental to feel not like a condo, but like a family home; warm, comfortable and homey.
Bedrooms are for sleeping, and being someone who struggles with their sleep means I’ve been exploring how the fundamentals of design can aid in the sleep experience. In this case, keeping a distraction free area meant going for a minimalist aesthetic. Remembering that sometimes, throw cushions and decorative elements (that are oh so pretty) sometimes make an individual feel cluttered, and less can often encourage someone to feel relaxed.
Music Festival Headliner Trailer Reimagined
This was an Umbra x Ashley Freeman Design collaboration for the Field Trip Music Festival in Toronto. When decorating this mobile trailer for the music headliners we kept our theme energetic and fun. Our tape feature was the focal point of the space, this damage free and temporary DIY was a really fun project that anyone can achieve or adapt for their own space!
